Development and Validation of a Screen Fatigue Scale

Due to rapid development in information and communication technologies (ICT), daily life has been digitized with increasing momentum, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this situation more than ever. Depending on these developments excessive use of ICT, many new concepts have emerged, including screen fatigue. To respect, study aims develop a scale that determines fatigue among adolescents caused by test scale’s psychometric properties. The research was conducted an exploratory sequential, mixed-method design. In study’s first phase, qualitative data were obtained through literature review focus group interviews initial item pool. Based analysis, 56-item pool formed. quantitative administered 365 students for factor analyses (EFA). After determining dimensions EFA, it 417 confirmatory analysis (CFA). Quantitative demonstrated satisfactorily reliable valid. A final obtained, 24 items four factors named behavioral, physical, affective, cognitive symptoms
